This is a place where you can
live, eat and breathe Kung Fu
When we set out to design the Kung Fu Retreat, we looked to make all of our dreams about a perfect Kung Fu, Chi Kung (Qi Gong) and Meditation school come to become reality. We spent many years choosing the ideal location then set about building a full time, residential school with all of the elements needed by serious students and teachers alike. We have been perfecting the Retreat over the last 15 years and, although we are constantly fine-tuning and improving, are now close to the ultimate Kung Fu venue.
Our teachers are our greatest asset. In any school, and in particular in martial arts schools, nothing makes more difference than the quality, experience and character of the teachers. They are the people who make the school great. We know that a great teacher not only needs to know their Kung Fu, they also have to know how to pass it on to others. We also have a fantastic support team.

The Nam Yang Pugilistic Association is one of the world’s oldest Traditional Chinese Shaolin Temple Martial Arts schools.
Nam Yang teaches Southern Shaolin Martial Arts styles, including Tiger-Crane Kung Fu and Shaolin Weapons systems, Hard and Soft Chi Kung, and Shuang Yang Pei Ho or the Sun and Frost White Crane Soft Internal Art. Nam Yang has trained students to become world ranked martial artists and our demonstration teams have performed around the world.
The Mountain Retreat is designed to be the ultimate martial arts training Qigong and Meditation venue. It is set on 12.6 acres of land on the side of a mountain spur, bordering the jungle and maintaining awesome views across the Pai river valley to mountains which rise steadily to the Himalayas. In the early morning, when we begin training, the mountains are usually shrouded in mist which gradually clears as the sun rises. The school is built in the local Shan style architecture according to Chinese Feng shui principles.
The Words Kung Fu; Mean Hard Work Over A Long Time.
Within each and every one of us there lies the potential to be great. To go further, to be better, to achieve more. We are all born with a spark of greatness, glowing deep inside us. But as life takes its toll and the world wears us down, that spark begins to fade and we begin to slide down into ordinariness – and all of that potential is wasted. To succeed we need to find discipline, we need to find inspiration, we need to find great strength within us. In short, we need to find a way. In Chinese, that way has a name. It is called Kung Fu.
The words Kung Fu; mean hard work over a long time. And that is exactly what it is. Transformation is not easy. Greatness does not come without effort. Kung Fu means pushing yourself past your limits over and over again. Digging deep and finding that spark.
Shaolin Kung fu has been developed over 1500 years by generations of totally dedicated, focused individuals to become the ultimate force for change from within. For unleashing our true selves.
At our Thailand Kung Fu camp, we train body, mind, emotion, spirit and soul. We strengthen our tendons until our body is held together as a single springy mass filled with energy, just waiting to explode out. We stretch to open our bodies, open our minds, straighten our posture and walk tall. We harden our fists until they can smash through concrete. We sharpen our reflexes until we move like a shadow. We push through pain to strengthen our character. We persevere and endure to discipline our minds. And through perseverance comes success!
The Nam Yang Kung Fu Retreat is a place of discovery and transformation.
It is a place where you will confront yourself and break the bonds that are holding you back. It is a place where, instead of learning modernized, superficial Kung Fu, you will learn the old way and its philosophy, traditions, ethos, culture and wisdom. It is a place from which you will emerge stronger, wiser, clearer and better.
